Yeah just start your own instance on a different planet with situations that only provoke your preferred amount of existential dread!
Barring that you’re going to be stuck identifying the sources of this widespread misery and trying to help people overcome it. For most people that might be difficult but I don’t know your budget so I won’t assume. There’s also the option of interacting with machines that pose as happier humans but your goal overall seems contrary to growing that 80% by adding yourself unless I misread your intent.
What about it specifically do you dislike? This type of setting definitely invites questioning by the audience and can break immersion, but I’m curious about your take on it.
In dungeons and dragons there is a type of hybrid character you can play called an Artificer who treats magic more like technology, and there are a ton of examples in popular media that others have mentioned. I do think you have to determine how and if you’ll keep them distinct if that’s important to your plot, but if they developed alongside eachother maybe the technology of that world relies on magic to work.
Or maybe your magic relies on elder gods that don’t like the mortal hubris of critiquing the gods works so attempts to unravel magic gets you cursed or worse.
I think they can go together and the way you fit them can even become a plot point!
“New York Life all said they’ve never hired prompt engineers, but instead found that—to the extent better prompting skills are needed—it was an expertise that all existing employees could be trained on.”
Are you telling me that the jobs invented to support a bullshit technology that lies are themselves ALSO bullshit lies?
How could this happen??
It sounds like they found themselves in a situation they are not prepared to handle, and they are attempting to rush you through a major decision to compensate. It may not be malicious or a scam, and it may be a fluke that is not indicative of the normal pace and handling of their business, but it does not signal a healthy well run organization. If you do choose to proceed, do so with some level of caution and awareness of that fact. Do not give them any money, and if they give you any information that alarms or frightens you, slow the process down to give your self more time to evaluate.
I don’t have a complete walkthrough for you, but I’m considering doing this with comfyui and tailscale. searching for details on those should at give you a place to start!
The most flattering thing someone can do is deem your work worthy of adding to, like building on a good foundation. What you’re describing is detracting from someone else’s efforts to divert their attention from creativity to bickering with you. If they manage to create something good out of it that’s a credit to them and nothing but shame for you. I disagree with your take completely.
I think you’re right, but this is usually a developer skill issue. This UE developer thread was really useful in understanding the ‘why’ of ugly motion blur for me. https://forums.unrealengine.com/t/correct-motion-blur-values-to-use/131392
Between the demand to install an app we are prohibited from even "decipher"ing and the theft of content, I don’t think this service is anything I want to be a part of. I thought they were trying to be something better.

If I pushed an albatross down a well and attached a crab to it to harrass it on the way down it would also fall, despite being a fantastic winged flier.
Imagine them with wings ill suited to vertical flight and hovering, but very fast in the sky while soaring, and with the endurance to keep going for hours.
It’s my headcannon, but I give Gandalf points for forcing the fighter jet into a helicopter arena.
(The choice between a “daemon in the sheets” or “cronD in your log folder” joke is left as an exercise for the reader.)
If you still have that save file, you might consider tasteful use of an editor to give yourself a chance. If not though I’m sorry to hear that. BG1/2 were a huge part of my childhood and my longtime favorite villain came from the second.
Black hat and Defcon just ended and I’ll share my impression from LLM related talks given there. Microsoft VPs charged additional money to CISOs attending the summit talking about how AI will disrupt and be the future and blah blah magical thinking.
Meanwhile Microsoft engineers and others said things like “this is logarithmic regression for people who are bad at math, and is best for cases where 75% accuracy is good enough. Try to break use cases into as many steps as possible and keep the LLM away from any automation that could have any consequences. These systems have no separation between the control plane and user input, which is re-exposing us to problems that were solved 15 years ago.”
I think there are some neat possibilities that are lost in marketing hype as venture capitalist anger grows that they might have been scammed by yet another hammer in search of nails.
“Nut meat” is a common phrase so I would guess the peanut product is closest, but please stop this line of thought for your own safety.
Ok coward
I don’t presume to know your situation or the people you’ve dealt with so I’ll be charitable and imagine you cut your losses and quit similar situations in good faith, but you and I are both ignorant about the lives of others. It seems to me like the behavior you label an abandonment of principle leaves the door open to future redemption of a loved one. That’s worth fighting for. On that ground, I think you should stop sharing this opinion even if it’s true for you. If they don’t want to damn their own mother to a propoganda echo chamber full of malice then I’m rooting for them.
Children render frames incredibly slowly, and usually in crayon. I can’t imagine between that and lack of necessary math skills you wouldn’t get better performance by replacing the family with additional steamdecks of any storage capacity.
You’re doing great lol. Back in my helpdesk days I loved talking to people who overshared to be helpful.
Can you compare it to voidcrew if you’ve played that? I want to like a game like this but voidcrew never hooked me and I’m curious how you feel a few days in.
