I have cystic fibrosis, it’s a genetic disease and my lungs are (were, I got a new set) especially impacted, I thought COVID could possibly change the world for the better for people like me, improved access via remote work or telehealth etc. that people would be more reasonable and understanding to those with lung disease, that the medical sector would start looking more heavily into lung health, lung rehabilitation, the issues around lung disease and immune-disregulation etc. but really very little has happened and there’s been no significant permanent changes and people chose to keep denying illness and disability exist… I think the virus of the trump presidency running through the US will have the same negative effect where a lot of people die and not much else happens

It’s an extremely competitive unit that very few are able to join due to the extreme physical requirements, you do get to walk last in the military parades with their own marching pace, wear leather aprons and don’t have to shave, so you get to be a total bad ass, but it’s a lot of work

We watched Dark City this week for movie night… it’s a city full of people owned and manipulated by aliens. It was made in 1998 but looks horrible for when it was made. Lots of cool ideas, lots of cool themes, I think it would actually be a good candidate for a remake. If you like hideous sci-fi movies with bad acting but cool themes it’s for you

When education focuses on correct answers and standardized tests and not developing logic, critical thinking, leaning strategies and cultivating understanding of concepts there’s no reason to not use AI, it’s not like students are being educated when they’re being taught how to pass tests as the top priority so the school can secure more funding. The bane of the game is “give me the right answer” not “demonstrate your understanding” students are simply being efficient
