    I can’t help feeling that the real bad news is not that online platforms have been ruined, but that people have been and remain dependent on them.

      Yeah, it’s why a load of people don’t know what bookmarks are for.

      They don’t need to store 50 different shipping sites, it’s all on Amazon. They don’t need a gaming forum for every game, it’s all on Discord. All those blogs and RSS feeds are now Facebook and Twitter.

      It was never meant to be this centralised.

        Just like it’s easy to quit smoking — for a day or two. Much worse is the fact that so many traditional institutions have been supplanted by online ones. Try getting a job for example.

    It’s been in Washington. Are we really gonna pretend the government is only just starting to suck? The level of suck is going to jump 1000x in the next 4 years, but this is hardly new. It’s just more idiotic and in your face.
