    Anyone can be sued for anything. That alone isn’t a good reason.

    A website like this is never going to be actually held liable for people making comments about piracy. That’s not how the law works.

      You’re being downvoted for being correct. None of this has even come close to being tested in court and anyone claiming otherwise is a liar or a fool. In fact, going by bittorrent, simply going after seeders with IP addresses has the precedent of being harassment and law offices have gotten into lots of trouble at the behest of the MPAA/RIAA. And running a mirror instance has even less legal culpability than that since you’re not making available anything at all.

      My best friend makes half a mil a year in IP law and we talk about this, CONSTANTLY. He’s all in on the fediverse.
