I don’t want to “connect” with recruiters, I want them to find me a job (since that’s their job), and then I never want to hear from them until I start looking for a job again. If I wanted friends I wouldn’t be using a job board.

Yeah those prices might have been accurate about a century ago.
And before horses they were called “wotels” because you walked to them.
Selling cheaper food to places that have less money? It cannot be!
Alternative title: Capitalists accused of doing capitalism.
That’s the one silver lining. My biggest fear is that things won’t get worse fast enough. Humans, being dumber than frogs, won’t jump out of a pot of boiling water if you raise the heat slowly enough. I can only hope that the next four years are so terrible that we learn our lesson and have it actually stick this time.
That’s not a firing offense, that guy has HR Director of Hiring written all over him!
It could prevent more blood being spilled over a larger time period however. Definitely a “nuke vs ground invasion” dilemma where there are no good options.
Stock up on cheap vodka and old rags.
A party for the working class would be the biggest tent of all. But focusing on divisiveness is more profitable.
If it isn’t the original Gutenberg bible I refuse to swear.
I had to reboot my Windows 10 desktop because the software I have to manage my wallpaper wasn’t working (and still isn’t), and had to unplug my second monitor during reboot otherwise the Steam overlay won’t work. After rebooting, I had a different software prompt me to update and the save file location window froze the browser for 3-4 minutes, while discord was freezing in the foreground. The taskbar disappeared until I restarted Explorer.exe, some telemetry process I had never heard of before was eating up 92-100% of the CPU and I had to go into the scheduler to disable it.
This is an average day with Windows nowadays. I didn’t even mention the myriad of perpetual issues I’ve been having.
Of course on my Linux laptop Chrome wouldn’t update automatically either through the browser or from the command line (and I have to use Chrome because Google Drive doesn’t work right on Firefox on Linux).
I used to have a Ford Explorer Sport Trac, that had a 4.5’ bed and it was a great size for me about 90% of the time. Now I have a monstrous 6.5’ bed, and it’s too big 90% of the time. (The used truck market is extraordinarily bad and I took what I could get.)
Don’t get me wrong, there are still thousands of reasons to find the Cybertruck horrid, but the bed size, I personally would say, isn’t one of them.
Well obviously it’s the Western powers that gave a bunch of displaced Jews land after WWII, despite no legitimate claim to the area, and then proceeded to keep meddling in Middle Eastern affairs so they could get cheap oil. And the biggest of those Western powers directly gives taxpayer money to war profiteers so there’s a direct financial incentive to keep the genocide going.
Those are the goodest guys.
Because people under 30 never have anyone to represent them. And it’s not a “oh they don’t match my views 100% so I’m not gonna pick either” thing, for the average leftist we’re lucky to get a choice between someone who represents us 0%, or 0.2%.
It already starved to death.
Digital messaging has autocomplete, and while it ducking sucks (and is getting worse, thanks LLMs), it still does all the work for you.
I would, at the least, desire to egg that MIT prof’s house. Language is about communication, and if everyone has their own rules there can be no communication. If you spell it Travis’ I’ll be asking you what a Travi is.
Money that is kept and never spent is worthless. Currency has to be used to have value, otherwise it’s just paper (or bits). The working class won’t hold on to their money, they have bills to pay, groceries to buy, etc. Only the wealthy would hold on to their money, which they’re already doing.
I’m of the opinion that in a few decades we’ll see autism and ADHD dropped from the DSM as we recognize that for the majority of people it isn’t a disorder, it’s just our brains working differently. The conflict only happens because what we call neurotypicals made the rules for society (both “written” and “unwritten”) and are best suited to follow those rules, so the rules never change.
Of course there are people on the non-functional end of the spectrum, and we may either come up with a new term for that, or just redraw the diagnostic line to be closer to the non-functional end.
Of course this assumes we as a species survive past the next couple decades, and that we continue to recognize and support neurodivergence, and start to uproot the neurotypical rules that only benefit neurotypicals.
Day 1065: still feeling fatigue. Poor sleep habits or longest period ever?
