I would have told you that for $1500.
I would have told you that for $1500.
If it wasn’t that, she’d find something else to be obnoxious about. For me everything was literally 1984 at the time.
Absolutely not a mistake. When I read 1984 as a teenager, it forever inoculated me against doublespeak and propaganda. Maybe that movie can fulfill a similar function today.
But that’s a legitimate reason for it to exist. A lot of people have reservations towards Linux because they’re concerned about the gaming experience. Making it smooth and easy is a good thing. Having said that, I just installed Steam on Mint and everything ran just fine. I only play Steam games on that machine, though.
No. You whippersnappers may not remember, but journalistic standards once were a thing.
Have you tried Mint or something similar? You can absolutely run and install it without using the command line.
Why pay for insurance if you can just buy some politicians? They’re pretty cheap.
I hear the murder rate is in decline.
I’d give it a shot if i was on the lookout for something new, but I see absolutely no reason to switch from Mint.
Yes, that’s my point. If people could buy Linux PCs at Best Buy or Walmart, most of them would get on with it just fine.
People find Windows easier to use because they are used to the quirks. Of course you shouldn’t let a beginner try Arch, but there are plenty of beginner friendly distros. The complications often come from installing Linux in the first place but the average user will have just as much trouble installing Windows.
If she doesn’t like it, find a new wife!
If you have cutting edge hardware, this might be an issue. But most people don’t and for them Mint will work just fine. If you want cutting edge, don’t use Mint. But that’s not their focus at all. Mint is for people who just want their computer to work with minimal hassle.
As a cyclist you’re in constant danger around car traffic. Insisting on your rights will likely get you killed. We need cycling infrastructure that is separate from car infrastructure and that will create some inconvenience for car drivers.
It makes sense if you believe that cars should have absolute priority in traffic and should never never ever be in the slightest inconvenienced in order to make life easier for cyclists.
What are you, some kind of socialist?
