That was already done over fifty years ago through the national flood insurance program, NFIP.
PSA: If you are in a flood prone area, your lender may require you to purchase flood insurance. But did you know that some communities will argue against changes to the flood maps that would show them as being in a flood prone area? This means you may be at a higher risk for flooding than the federal maps would suggest. You can still buy flood insurance through the NFIP, though.
Here’s a “myths and facts about flood insurance” page from FEMA: https://www.fema.gov/press-release/20230425/fact-sheet-myths-and-facts-about-flood-insurance
I use the Fox Replace extension to replace all instances of slam with criticize. It’s great.
Isn’t paraphrasing/summarizing the top result a pretty good use case for LLMs? If I search “what temperature should I bake cupcakes at?” I really just want a simple answer, not dozens of links to life story style recipe blogs.
DDG didn’t provide a summary, but Google did (and it was very long). I assumed the answer was 350F, but the summary suggested 325-375. Lower for flatter cupcakes, higher for more domed. Interesting.
This type of summary wouldn’t be nearly as helpful for a technical programming question, but I doubt that describes the bulk of search queries.
The fact that users wanting a “feature complete” product at launch is seemingly news to them is absurd.
The video also looks like he’s making an M sound (closed lips) than an N sound (open lips). Grammatically, I also don’t think including “Haitian” makes sense if the next word is a slur.
I’m all for calling out the actual content on the conversation as the absolute nonsense that it is, but this specific headline seems like a bit of a reach.
I personally use LLMs in the workplace. It’s great for generating boilerplate code, especially stuff that is often very repetitive like test classes.
Any suggestions for spiritual sequels?
Have any companies besides ubisoft used the term yet?
So what I’m hearing is EVs have a 60-80% lower carbon cost?
And it works great on mobile Firefox!
Coincidentally, the least trainable dog I have ever met was an Italian greyhound like the one in your picture.
I agree that the bot is problematic and don’t think it provides valuable information. I personally have it blocked. Leaving the community and blocking the bot both result in one less person advocating against the bot.
Wouldn’t it be easier to just block the bot?
Refreshing once you’re in reader mode fixes that issue for me sometimes.
I can’t imagine Ukraine letting Russia keep Crimea, but I also can’t imagine Putin letting it go.
You don’t like paying $15 for a tiny burger?
Experian has a program where you connect your bank account and they monitor transactions for things that could improve your credit by a couple points. I’m sure they’re not also harvesting the rest of your data to use in their analytics, right?
Hot take here, but I generally trust the governing bodies of the sporting events to figure that stuff out since I’m not an expert.
NFIP insurance is pretty limited, I think $250k structure and $100k contents. It also doesn’t cover things like additional living expenses, which would include a hotel while you’re displaced. It’s also often your only choice, though. It’s something that every home owner needs to consider for themselves based on the flood risk of their area.
