Not with that attitude. Seriously, we’ll need to be absolutely furious if we ever want something to be done about something we care about
Does anyone remember anger?

I’ve never been as proud of my state representatives as I was when I lived in Oregon. Wyden and Merkley are American heroes, as far as I’m concerned
So do most people, at least speaking for Americans. Ignoring all other context, at least this guy gives a miniscule shit about what his people think/want. That’s just like basic politics
I do have to wonder if he thinks he’s in more danger of losing it all than other contemporary government leaders
The OP? What’s that based on? All their posts are just critical of Israel
That said, given how lemmy works, there’s no real recourse anyway. This is a good, funny post, so I’ll upvote it. Since upvote points aren’t tracked there’s nothing we can really do to tell bad actors apart from people that actually contribute to communities/discussions. If it mattered, I’d maybe downvote but it doesn’t since every post they make ends up being treated individually by the community (unless you track usernames or something and I personally don’t pay for that feature)
You’d have to comment on all their posts if you wanted it to stick, and then if it’s not obvious like here, you’d have to provide reasoning each time. I don’t get it but most people really didn’t like points being added up for some reason
Interesting. I thought that was just in movies. lol
Ok, yeah I figured the same thing
I just learned that Rockefeller significantly improved his image by giving away the money he stole from his workers.
Maybe Amazon can just to donate half of the money they don’t pay in taxes to win back most people’s support - hell, maybe even less than that!
That seems kinda fucked up. Why would you do something like that?
I mean, I at least get fucking with people for money. Doing it for fun, not so much
Also, anyone know what they meant with this line?
I still loved my life so I didn’t want to use the Google custom search API.
And here I thought they just wanted Israel to stop their genocide of Palestinians
Shit, I bet if they’d negotiated in good faith people would’ve been happy for them to just stop butchering the children. I’d personally be happy if they spares one child live for every one they choose to murder - but I’m just a bit more reasonable than most, I guess
And who are the good guys?
Are you one of the good guys? Oh shit am I?
lol. Bad guys?
I mean, sure but Dems only really have a chance because Republicans continue to run the shuttiest candidates imaginable. That is absolutely true
Like, Obama won partly because McCain chose to run with Palin. It’s not the only reason he won, but it’s silly to think it wasn’t a major factor - especially considering everything we know about white American voters, that’s been made just as clear as it ever could be. I bet it was a tough decision for some/many Americans
I’ve always wished I could feel like the choice in a general election was a hard decision, but alas I’m working class and brown (and believe in science)
Anyone know if The Finals counts as a “live service” game? It’s free to play and I think it’s fantastic - both the game and the fact it’s free.
I just don’t play games enough to justify the huge asking prices anymore. The last games I paid for were COD MW2 and Cyberpunk and I doubt I’ll ever drop $70+ for a game again, especially when there’s games like splitgate and whatnot that are free (not that I ever tried the new one. lol)
Idk how it could. Haven’t tons of companies been announcing layoffs for like tens of thousands of workers for a few years now?
Yeah, I couldn’t believe the ridiculous narrative either. After the reading the article though, it at least makes some sense for me as a Mexican-American dude. It’s mainly white people doing better and I guess that totally tracks (also helps explains why so many people here are ready to believe it). I honestly sometimes forget to remind myself “American” hardly ever means all Americans
That said, it’s wild how little discussion there is on this here and how any mention of frustration with the accepted narrative results in others thinking you’re just a bitter idiot, or something

Yeah, idk. They’ll show the important scenes. Just not entirely or anything. lol
I was mostly joking but it’s def an option. It works if you just want the jist of the story and don’t really care about the acting or basically anything else
Have you tried watching movie recaps on youtube? It’s the other extreme but i find it good enough for movies I’ll never see. There’s lots of movies I’ve seen there I’m glad I didn’t watch for a full hour. Most movies have tons of similar tropes you can easily understand in like a 15 min sentence
So now the best time to take that Euro trip?
Seriously though, just went to Italy, France and Netherlands and it was incredibly how cheap and easy it was to fly between different countries. Definitely want to go back for Germany
Idk, I see liberals telling everyone to be calm and content and that the economy is great and getting better.
I totally get the reason and vibe they’re going for, but they’re basically saying don’t be righteously furious and ignore reality, imo, while they capitulate on claims that crime and immigration are bigger problems. I guess, I just don’t know that significant economic/social change has ever happened without pissed-off people fighting like their lives depend on it
Most people I know know about the drake beef and the Diddy scandal, but I couldn’t even count like 5 people that I know personally that could name their senators or explain what the electoral college is.
I think most of us prefer to ignore our emotions, and I think anything related to politics beings up uncomfortable emotions for people so they just don’t do it and stay away from the topic
