get a rice cooker.
One button. super safe. easy to clean.
there are recipe books about how to use a rice cooker to cook all sorts of stuff (rice, curries, hot pot, soups, pasta, steamed anything)
with that same one button.
after you get comfortable heating up food so that you can eat it, you can try a pan or a Crock-Pot, whatever strikes your fancy.
“…over your head”
Don’t get too worked up, folks can’t help but understand you.
the salient characteristic of your comments is their simple-mindedness.
I don’t hang out with a lot of 13-year-olds.
I guess it’s good you’re learning something from them.
is your relationship with them appropriate?
yep, that sort of manipulative dog-whistling is the sanitized version of what I’ve seen online.
they make it all cynthia’s fault, and blame her for being too “woke” and “virtue-signaling”.
she’s a public figure, and so she apparently must accept any and all criticism and is not allowed to share her own feelings.
you can read more honestly offensive anf virulent versions of those criticisms floating around on social media.
I thought the fan edited poster looked terrible myself, but I’m apparently in the minority there and it’s a fan at it, so who cares.
" it isn’t about her"
it is literally about erasing and replacing her image with a different image.
that’s fine if you or other people like the new image better, and it’s fine for Cynthia to express her upset at her image being erased and replaced.
both of your feelings are valid, especially since neither of you are making demands of anyone else.
the row had nothing to do with the movie studio, or the movie, really.
a fan edited the poster, the star said her feelings were hurt in too many words and too dramatic a fashion, and the internet en masse told her to shut the fuck up and she was so selfish for sharing her feelings, she should stop attacking people (she didn’t) and she should silently accept whatever was coming to her since she was a public figure (she shouldn’t) but as a public figure she wasn’t allowed to express herself(she is).
a fan edited the official movie poster that erased half of the star’s face and added lipstick and tweaked a bunch of stuff, the star got really upset and tweeted that the poster was offensive and her erasure hurt her and she wanted people to know that it hurt her.
so a bunch of people attacked her.
she wrote more than necessary, maybe, but she didn’t attack the fan or ask the fan to take the poster down or anything like that, she was just letting people know that she felt hurt, and she was rabidly attacked for expressing herself.
I’m curious, since the federation seems a lot more geographically decentralized then reddit did.
is there any information on the User-Base by nationality?
some of us were wondering on another thread since there are so many communities in different languages, but I can’t find any way to tell the ballpark nationality percentages of the users here.
that’s great to hear, congratulations!
cool. i always like digging through the huge pillow cushion area they have at thrift stores.
I have a lot of pillows.
I liked using my standing desk in my home office. so much that I eventually got one for the office.
I got a lot of compliments and interested short conversations, but notably only one other person transitioned to a standing desk.
I’ll say that some chairs are more comfortable than others, but a standing desk is finally what felt the most comfortable for me.
do you mean it doesn’t correct your misspellings as you type or it doesn’t correct your search terms?
mine corrects my search terms if i type colude instead of collude or something,
" is am a pronoun" gives me “am is not a pronoun”.
there are a few results under that mentioning that “am” should be used with pronouns, heavily implying that it isn’t a pronoun itself.
that’s a tricky search because “am” is such a small and common word, I get more direct results (after the direct answer from duckassist) If I put quotes around am, like
is “am” a pronoun?
sorry it didn’t work out for you, are you trying other browsers or reverting to the googs?
ha, yea, that rings true, i felt the same way.
exactly, the feie makes tax mitigation way simpler for most full-time travelers at most income levels.
you’re welcome, I love it when people find this stuff useful!
what a coincidence. I have Paris Texas queued up.
haven’t watched it in a decade, looking forward to it.
Deadpool and Wolverine and I haven’t laughed as hard at a movie in a long time.
definitely had to turn off any automatic cynicism kicking in, but once I was able to sink into the dumb fun, which happened nearly immediately with the opening dance number, i laughed a lot the entire movie and enjoyed a couple genuine surprises.
and I really liked the credit scenes.
A few different film techniques.
they could film the actor in different costumes on the same set without moving the camera, and then they put those performances together.
so you can have the profile of Austin powers on the left talking to the profile of Dr. evil on the right, and those were separate performances pasted together so it looks like they’re responding to each other even though Mike Myers was performing those conversations separately during different recordings.
If evil and Austin are in the same shot and it’s an over-the-shoulder, the actor facing the camera is the real actor and the guy not facing the camera is a body double with the same hair or bald mask
so if you were looking at Austin and Dr. evil in the same shot, either those are two separate performances put together and you’ll see that they never touch each other, or if they do touch each other, you’ll notice that you never see the frontal face of one of the actors, which is actually a body double.
and you can see these two techniques and others used in Eddie Murphy’s movies, or pretty much any body double move movie.
