It’s like an awful combination of a boomer making a flirtatious “joke” and the hyper nerdy language of The Big Bang Theory show.

And it’s a hilarious coincidence that it resulted in the southern most point being Antarctica, as it just happens to be the only continent without bears.

If he was that competent why would he resort to openly pumping and dumping meme coins in public just prior to this stunt.

He has some dangerous strings he can pull, but that doesn’t make him a good puppet master.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure he gave an outlandish bid for Twitter to manipulate it’s stock prices when he pulled put, but he was sued into following through.

I don’t think he ever wanted to buy it, or at least he wanted to crash it’s value to come back and buy it on the cheap.

There are multiple cases where pure chance and human hesitation prevented all out nuclear bombardment in the Cold War.

So for that alone we are extremely lucky.

Humans have advanced far but hardly changed.

From a game theory perspective, a trumper discouraged to vote is worth 1 vote, a flipped Republican vote is worth 2 votes.

So the appeal to the right makes sense if it works, because every vote from that camp is also a negative vote from Trump.

I have the hope that she’ll end up being more progressive after votes are counted.

Partially because she has Walz which is a good sign, but mostly I’m hoping for hopes sake. 🤞

The actual work being talked about is Three Versions of Judas by Jorge Luis Borges.

There’s a fascinating idea that Judas was the one who committed the ultimate sacrifice. That god chose him to be his human incarnate, to truly experience humanity and guilt by committing an ultimate betrayal and becoming the villain of biblical history. All allowing him to finally understand and forgive humanity’s sin, by committing one himself. It follows that this is supposedly maddening knowledge as it breaks the illusion of Christ’s sacrifice.

I’m definitely butchering and ad-libbing the original idea, but I think this makes for a grander story than the traditional “birth myself to sacrifice myself to myself to forgive everyone else” interpretation.

In order to tangibly pay employees/rent/servers a company needs either profits, subsidies, or a ponzi scheme inflated stocks.

We also “knew” a bunch of other theories at the time, like his twitter implied it was Epstein related (I think, whole thing was murky).

This is more or less confirming a singular theory. Looks like he just did it because he believed he could. Maybe for legacy or infamy or just general importance.

The irony is that the assassination attempt itself has basically become irrelevant. The Vance couch meme currently has a bigger impact than this.

So a tricky thing with LGBT words is they seem to vary around specificity.

Like people can say gay to mean gay men, gay people, or any kind of queer.

Similarly transgender can mean a gender identity not matching your biological sex, which includes genderfluid; or it can mean specifically a binary trans man/woman.

These aren’t different valid opinions about the label. They are literally just different definitions for the words that depend on context. The words mean all of those things but usually only one in each context.

I hate hate hate when people try to discredit a theory because “it’s a theory not a fact” as if the label of “fact” exists on some kind of science ladder for an idea. “Facts” is a colloquial word like any other, it’s not some special category above theories.

Moreover, the most tried and tested theories are facts. Science rarely just disproves an established theory outright. Einstein’s General Relatively equations reduces into Newton’s Laws of Motion in most situations. Newton’s Laws of Motion weren’t “wrong”, it’s just General Relatively is more specific and accurate.

The Scientific Method usually just builds on what already exists without claiming we were all unfactual for working with what we had.

In a D&D game that I got in through Roll20 matchmaking. One of the players asks if I want to join another campaign with his friends, said yes.

One of those friends is now my fiancee that I moved states for. The original guy ghosted all of us in a harsh way but I’ll forever owe my new life to him.

Theoretically we could slow down training and coast on fine-tuning existing models. Once the AI’s trained they don’t take that much energy to run.

Everyone was racing towards “bigger is better” because it worked up to GPT4, but word on the street is that raw training is giving diminishing returns so the massive spending on compute is just a waste now.

But if you break apart Google, how will they afford to keep killing off their own services!?!
