I want to say it was a clause of the FCC’s Fairness Doctrine, wherein newscasters were legally required to present information on events and political matters as unbiased as possible on publicly-issued airwaves. It lost a lot of its steam when cable became commonplace, as cable networks were technically closed-circuit systems, and then it went out the door with the internet. I don’t really see that happening, since you’re essentially divorcing wealth from power, and you have a better chance at abolishing capitalism. Ultimately we need a shift of consciousness in this country, but I ain’t holding my breath.

It seems like it’s already beginning. For one, Firefox is getting blocked more and more often as being “out of date” (it’s not) while a chromium-based browser is fine. My VPN keeps getting flagged as malicious (PIA). It’s getting really irritating.
