I work at a food pantry, we are open one day a week. Pre Trump the average was 25 families, our typical now is 36. Yesterday there were 55 famlies, 150 people total. I don’t know what we are going to do next week if the snap benefits lapse. We can’t handle that many people regularly.
There are a mix in comics. The good are superheroes the bad are supervillians. And some of them are in the grey. Batman doesn’t kill, but has no problem beating the shit out of henchman. Red hood killed people for good reasons, most of the time. He is sometimes a hero and sometimes a villain. Poison Ivy is a villain who often helps women and doesn’t hurt kids.
Also Deadpool. Just yeah, great guy who is an unrepentant killer.

What city are you close to? Can you look for work in Columbus? It’s much more liberal and there are more people who are like minded. You might feel safer being yourself, while still being close to home. It would be a smaller move, if you have to move.
If you have the ability to, please seek help from a professional. It sounds like you are really struggling. Once you are in a better place mentally it will be easier to tackle these life things you don’t have the motivation to do. You have been surviving so far, following what was expected of you. Now that there isn’t a definite next step it’s harder. I would recommend putting whatever energy you have into finding a therapist.
You can do this! You have reached out for help already, which is really hard. Honestly you are amazing to have survived with who you are intact. I can’t imagine the strength it would take to live with people who believe you should be killed. To constantly be afraid of being found and hurt. You grew up being enemy lines when it should have been a safe haven.
Long term heavy drinking is really rough on the body. My cousin’s ex husband recently passed away from drinking. She left him because of if and his kids didn’t want much to do with him. He had been sober for a year and was just talking with my cousin about trying to have a relationship with his kids. It was going well. Then he died. It just doesn’t seem worth the risk.
Liver is a weird one. The liver is one of the only organs that can regenerate. Anyone can donate a chunk of their liver. It just regrows after awhile, as well as in the recipient. So livers are better at staying under the radar from the immune system.
I hope they try it. At their age recovering from major surgery will be a breeze. I wish I was on immune suppressants for the rest of my life. Oh and don’t forget another surgery when the organ fails! Sounds like immortality to me

Yep! How much stomach acid, how fast an individuals GI system processes food, lots of variables. Diseases that affect the GI are kinda weird IMHO. :]
It would be due to multiple variables. There needs to a certain amount of bacteria in the small intestine. Some of the variables would be, the amount of bacteria initially ingested, number of bacteria that make it past the stomach, immune system of the host, time for the bacteria in the intestine to reach a concentration to cause symptoms.
There are multiple different types of salmonella infections. They typical serotype in Africa is invasive, meaning it’s in the blood and people can become septic. This one appears to be non-invasive, it is similar to food poisoning.

The main issue with any computer is that they can’t adapt to new situations. We can infer and work through new problems. The more variables the more “new” problems. The problem with biology is there isn’t really any hard set rules, there are almost always exceptions. The amount of functional memory and computing power is ridiculous for a computer. Driving works mostly because there are straightforward rules.

Agreed that the reason people are hungry needs to be addressed. However, it’s far better than nothing faith based or otherwise.
I won’t get started on a bank vs. a pantry, but they are different. What a pantry offers and when they are open varies drastically between pantries. Out of date food does not necessarily mean that it isn’t safe to eat. The FDA has a table of food types and when to throw it away. Canned and dried foods are typically good well past the expiration date.
