How long until it gets good? I spent about 90 minutes on it last week, because the Silksong hype was rolling hard and I didnt want to get left behind, but it just felt like fumbling around and nothing really happening.
Is it just not for me or did I not reach the good bits yet?
Its a bit psychologically tense, but the “classically-scariest” thing is when you lose a game and he reaches out to grab you.
It gets a bit conceptually intense, but theres no super-scary monsters or jumpscares or anything. Nothing ever comes up right behind you while the violins intensify.
Not sure why you got the down arrow treatment there, its exactly right. StS is the undisputed king of this arena, but nonetheless Inscryption delivered one of the best experiences in gaming I’ve ever had.
Its up there with Bioshocks big twist, landing on Halo, and the Sith planet on KOTOR.
Im not sure I’ll ever find another game that hits me like that. For me it came on gamepass and that was the first id heard of it. I had no idea what it was going to do.
I did doki doki literature club a long time ago, but it was famous for doing a thing. Everyone was talking about it. They wouldn’t tell you what the thing was oh no iykyk lol bro u just gotta play it bro. It was great but I went into it knowing that something was coming, so when it did I just went “huh neat.”
Ive been told the guy dev team that made inscryption also did other things that are also hella cool, but im refusing to pay attention to any of it. For these things to hit right, they need to be stumbled into by accident. Its not an incredible surprise if you go into it knowing.
Either people voted him in and it was all legit, and that’s scary, or they’re all happily going along with rigged elections while fascists take over, which is also scary.
Gamers need to be stricter with themselves if they have more than 2 brain cells. If a space is overly toxic I will just leave. There’s too much competition for my attention, and I dont enjoy getting spat on when im losing.
If enough people decide theyre not willing to deal with it any more, there goes your casual player base, thats longer queue times and more aggressive microtransactions as they desperately milk the whales before the ship sinks.
They should think about it for a moment before they lash out at people.

Ive only recently been able to visualise things, but only when im close to sleeping. My wife got annoyed at me when I first discovered it because I couldnt stop laughing at the amount of detail I was able to make on a fence. Only problem is now when im awake and unable to do it, im more aware of the ability I dont have.
Also, people who can just make shit up and see it in their heads, how do they get anything done? I feel like id just be imagining stuff all day long

Yeah “while improving their standard of living” sounds great except the wealth generated isnt being spread out among the population.
If there are 5 factory workers on a line, and a machine comes out that means there’s only 2 on that line now, are the 3 who are out of a job still going to get paid the same, or are the 2 remaining going to get any kind of pay rise? Are they bollocks. The 3 losers need to “Just get a job” and the 2 people left need to start producing more for the same pay.
Maybe the value is getting passed onto the consumer? Probably not with shrinkflation, regular inflation and skyrocketing CEO bonuses.

Yeah I not longer enjoy the cartoons that are targeted towards kids, with a few exceptions.
Classics like Tom and Jerry survive, and “adult animation” stepped in to save us just before we had to grow up for real.
Until i turned 18 my birthday was the 1st of January somewhere in the 70s or 80s

Im not that guy, I only spent about 90 minutes on it so far. The jump physics feel weird, like its too vertical and not horizontal enough (theres probably upgrades that fix this later idk), and I have only identified one area i know I can’t reach yet.
Usually with these games you can see a cracked wall and think “oh im coming back here when I get the bombs” or “I bet I can make that jump with a double jump later” but I’ve only seen one platform i cant get to yet. Maybe im not observant enough, maybe I havent been in the right rooms yet, or maybe its just too slow for me to feel the hooks.
